What personal data we collect
Depending on how you use our website, we may process:
- Your name, billing and delivery addresses, email address and telephone number.
- Order details, selected products, payment status, invoice information and shipping details.
- Messages, project briefs, reference images and other information you choose to share when contacting us or requesting a custom creation.
- Newsletter subscription details and communication preferences, if you subscribe.
- Technical information such as IP address, device/browser information and cookie preferences, subject to the tools enabled on our website.
We ask you not to include unnecessary sensitive personal information in messages or project requests.
Why we use your information
We use personal data to process and deliver orders, take payments, provide customer service, respond to enquiries, prepare custom-project proposals, meet legal accounting obligations, maintain website security and, where applicable, send a newsletter or measure website performance.
Our legal bases may include performance of a contract, compliance with a legal obligation, our legitimate interests (where these are not overridden by your rights) and consent where required, for example for optional marketing cookies or certain communications.
Orders, payments and delivery
We use WooCommerce to manage webshop orders. Payment transactions are processed through Mollie, which receives the information necessary to handle your selected payment method. We do not need your full payment-card details to fulfil your order.
We share relevant delivery information with PostNL and any delivery partners involved in shipping your parcel. These service providers process data under their own applicable privacy terms or agreements.
For more information about deliveries, see Shipping & Delivery.
Contact and custom creations
When you contact us or request a custom design, we use the details and any reference materials you provide to respond, discuss possibilities, prepare a quotation and, if agreed, carry out your project.
We do not publish customer project photos, names, testimonials or supplied reference images for promotional purposes without an appropriate basis or permission.
Email updates and marketing
If you subscribe to our newsletter, we use your email address to send updates about My Brick Boutique. You can unsubscribe using the link in a newsletter or by contacting us.
Before publication: confirm the newsletter provider, subscription method and whether any existing customers receive marketing emails under an applicable legal exception.
Cookies and analytics
Our website may use essential cookies for shopping-cart, checkout, security and cookie-preference functions. Optional analytics or advertising technologies, if enabled, are subject to the applicable consent requirements.
For details about the actual cookies, providers and your choices, see our Cookie Policy. The list of cookies and tracking services must reflect the live website configuration.
Who may receive personal data
Only where necessary, information may be shared with providers that support our webshop, hosting, website forms, payments, shipping, accounting, email delivery and analytics. We select appropriate arrangements for personal data processing where required.
Some providers may process information outside the European Economic Area. Where this occurs, we assess and use applicable safeguards, such as an adequacy decision or standard contractual clauses, as required.
Before publication: verify your actual hosting, form, email/newsletter, analytics and advertising providers and any international transfers.
How long we keep data
We keep personal data no longer than necessary for the purposes described above, unless a longer period is required by law.
- Invoices and relevant financial records: generally seven years under Dutch tax recordkeeping requirements.
- Orders and customer service: for as long as reasonably needed for fulfilment, after-sales support, potential claims and applicable legal obligations.
- Unaccepted custom enquiries: for a year after our last contact.
- Newsletter subscriptions: until you unsubscribe or the information is no longer needed, subject to any necessary suppression record.
- Analytics and cookies: according to the configured tool and your cookie choices.
How we protect information
We take appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal data against unauthorised access, loss and misuse. No internet service can guarantee absolute security.
Your privacy choices
Subject to applicable conditions, you may request access to, correction or deletion of your personal data; restriction of or objection to processing; and portability of data. Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it at any time without affecting earlier lawful processing.
To exercise your rights, email info@mybrickboutique.com. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request. We normally respond within one month, subject to any lawful extension.
You may also lodge a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens).
Updates to this policy
We may update this policy when our services, technology or legal obligations change. The most recent version will be available on this page.
